Sacramental Program

A school based family program supported by The Western Port Parish and Defence Archdiocese is offered to families wishing to continue their child’s Sacramental journey in the Catholic Faith Tradition at St. Joseph’s School.

Our Sacramental Program promotes the Gospel as the ‘living word’ in our school and parish faith community.

Students are prepared for the Sacraments of Eucharist, First Reconciliation and Confirmation in partnership with the Parish Priest, Defence Chaplain, their classroom teachers, parents and families.

The Western Port Parish has a Baptism Program for school aged children who wish for to receive the sacrament of Baptism. Parents are also encouraged to begin and/or continue their sacramental Journey through the Western Port Parish and the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) Program.

Sacramental Programs are conducted within the school with a central focus on the human experience and its relevance to the Gospel teachings and reverence to the Catholic faith tradition.

Contemporary learning and teaching approaches are used to deliver an interactive and engaging Sacramental Program.

Parents are encouraged to attend Sacramental meetings, workshop days, evenings and retreat days initiated by St. Joseph’s School to enhance the faith experience of each Sacramental Program. These involve students, classroom teachers and their parents learning in partnership to understand and meaningfully practice the Catholic Faith.
