Specialist Classes at St Joseph’s
At St Joseph’s School we provide a specialist program, that provides students with targeted instruction from expert teachers. that moves beyond the general classroom environment to enrich the Victorian Curriculum. Our specialist classes include:
Physical Education (P.E) is a cornerstone, focusing on fundamental motor skills and “physical literacy” through modified games, athletics, and team sports.
The Arts are typically split into two streams:
- Visual Art, where students explore mediums like ceramics, textiles, and painting in an art studio,
- Performing Arts, which encompasses Music (focusing on rhythm, notation, and instruments like the ukulele or recorder) and Drama (developing confidence through role-play and stagecraft).
Digital Technologies is taught as a dedicated specialist subject, providing students with a weekly opportunity to dive deep into the world of coding, data, cyber safety and systems thinking.
