Levelled Literacy Intervention (LLI)

Overview:

Levelled Literacy Intervention (LLI) is an intensive, small-group, supplementary literacy intervention for students who need extra support with reading. The goal of LLI is to lift the literacy achievement of students who are not achieving at grade-level expectations in reading. Karen Ellis is our adjustment team member who facilitates the LLI lessons. She has extensive experience and training in literacy intervention and support. The lessons are taken 2-3 times per week for 1/2 hour sessions. The lessons involve reading, writing and word work activities and focus on the goal set by the class teacher for the student. Students are monitored and assessed on their progress regularly throughout the adjustment period. This information is recorded, discussed and adjusted by the class teacher and the program is overseen by the adjustment team.
