Working Together in Mission

Living Our Mission Together

At St Joseph’s, Crib Point, we bring the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Working Together in Mission charter to life by fostering a deep, collaborative partnership between the school, the home, and the Western Port Parish. We recognise that educating the whole child—spiritually, academically, and emotionally—is a co-responsible task. By actively engaging with our Parish Priest, our School Advisory Council, and our sister schools in Hastings and Somerville, we ensure that governance transitions into genuine communal strength. This united front creates a stable, faith-filled environment where administrative structures exist purely to serve and elevate the lived experience of our students and families.

Central to this shared mission is our vibrant sacramental and liturgical life, which we navigate hand-in-hand with our broader parish community. We honor parents as the first educators of their children, inviting families into rich dialogue through school-based family sacramental evenings and parish-supported preparation for Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. Furthermore, we actively live out this mission by embracing our unique local context—providing accessible digital communication and tailored wellbeing support for our transient Defence Force families from HMAS Cerberus. In doing so, St Joseph’s ensures that no matter where our families are or how long they are with us, they are active partners in a community that empowers young people to encounter Christ and step forward with hope.
