Dear Parents,

The home is the first school

School is the second home

The environment is the third teacher

Together we can achieve great things and ensure all of our community are supported and cared for in this current time.

You are very much in our thoughts as our school community, along with others all over the world, as together we face the challenges raised by the quickly escalating Coronavirus Covid19 situation. We are here to support you in any way. We have a wonderful community here at St. Joseph’s and are here for every person in our community.

We know for many of you that jobs and incomes will be impacted and assure you that we are here to support you wherever possible. Please do not worry about school fees at this uncertain time. If you are suffering financial hardship please just email and we can come up with a plan to allow you to focus on the health and wellbeing of your family.

The most important environment we can create at the present time is a calm, positive and safe environment both at home and at school. Thankyou for working with us to ensure this is our number one priority.

May we all keep a focus on our Catholic Social Teachings especially in regards to the poor and vulnerable in our community. Keep a focus on our wonderful ST JOSEPH’S Helping Hand initiative and look for ways to give to others in our community. Share some food or supplies if you have an oversupply, send a meal to someone elderly in your street, send a note, text, phone call to one of our school community members to do a check in on how they are going.

If you are aware of any person who is struggling and in need of assistance or support please do not hesitate to contact me as we strive to ensure every member of our wonderful community is safe, cared for and continues to feel a sense of belonging and connection to others.

As you will be aware, the situation regarding schools can change in just a few hours or days. The latest update from both the Government and Catholic Education is that Victorian schools will finish today for the school holiday period.

The school is equipped and ready to switch learning to on line and home learning and communication.   We will keep our families updated and informed via the online platforms below:

As we come to the last day of the school term I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our community for the way you have managed this current health pandemic. What a brilliant community! Thank you to parents for working with us to ensure the health and safety of our students has remained number one.

Thank you to our magnificent staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure a consistent routine which has been focussed on learning, calm and positive. Thank you to our leadership team for the wonderful support you continue to give to all.

Take care, let us all stick together and support each other. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you all at this time.

Yours Sincerely,

Gab Espenschied
